Peugeot 308 GTi T9 Specifications
Peugeot unveiled the second-generation (T9) 308 in May 2013. Rumours began circulating in October 2014 regarding a faster GTi version, which was officially unveiled in June 2015. The car comes in two variants, both equipped with the 1.6-litre THP engine. The more powerful model delivers 270 PS (200 kW), while the less powerful version produces 250 PS.
The 270 PS model features the highest specific output in its segment at the time of launch, with 169 hp per-litre. This performance allows the 270 PS model to achieve 0-100 km/h in as little as six seconds. The 250 PS version is close behind, hitting 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds.
For high-performance stopping power, the GTi 270 is fitted with massive 380 mm (14.96-inch) ventilated discs at the front and 268 mm (10.55-inch) discs at the rear. The GTi 250 has the same 268 mm rear discs, but its fronts are downgraded to 330 mm (12.99-inch) discs.
The chassis modifications contribute to its performance. The 308 GTi sits 11 mm (0.43 inches) lower than the standard car. The track measurements are 1,570 mm at the front and 1,554 mm at the rear. Peugeot increased the stiffness of the rear beam and silentblocks from 30 to 500 daN/mm lateral and 170 to 490 daN/mm vertical. The GTi 270 also features a Torsen limited-slip differential, which is not available on the less powerful model.
Exterior options include Ultimate Red, Perla Nera Black, Hurricane Grey, Pearlescent White, and Magnetic Blue. The special “Coupe Franche” paint scheme, combining Ultimate Red and Perla Nera Black, is exclusive to the 308 GTi 270.
On the inside, the sporty theme continues with red stitching on the dashboard, door panels, and upholstery. The 270 model is fitted with PEUGEOT SPORT bucket seats finished in leather and Alcantara, while the less powerful GTi receives different seats as standard, though PEUGEOT SPORT seats are available for purchase. Furthermore, the Driver Sport Pack includes a “Sport” button that allows the instrument panel/display to switch from white to red, showing data like power, torque, boost, lateral, and longitudinal acceleration.
The top model features Michelin Super Sport tyres (235/35 R19) and 19-inch alloys. The less powerful GTi comes standard with Michelin Pilot Sport T3 tyres (225/40 R18) and 18-inch Diamant wheels, though buyers may opt for 19-inch Carbone alloys. A 2018 model year facelift was launched in 2017, which discontinued the 250 PS model.
